Leave Chiang Mai at 6:30 am for Joy Elephant Sanctuary, where you feed elephants and observe them at a safe distance. Continue to Doi Inthanon, the Twin Royal Stupas, Pha Dok Siew trail, and Karen village of Ban Mae Klang Luang. Expect a long day, winding roads, cool mountain air, and a moderate hike.
